How to Use Brush Tools in Photoshop Elements 7
Adobe Photoshop Elements 7 includes dozens of tools for computer image manipulation, but it also includes tools for more traditional, free-form drawing. The Brush tools are among these drawing implements. There are two brushes: the regular Brush tool and the Impressionistic Brush tool. Though they create different effects, both work the same way.

1
Select the brush icon in your toolbar. This will select the regular Brush tool. To select the Impressionistic Brush tool, hold down and click the second icon that pops up. The Brush tool paints like a regular paint brush; the Impressionistic Brush tool blurs the image as if you were brushing water onto wet watercolor.
-
2
Change the size of the brush with slider at the top of the screen. Moving it to the right makes it larger.

-
3
Select the opacity of the brush right next to the size. If you're using the regular Brush tool, this will allow you to see through the brushstrokes you make. If you're using the Impressionistic Brush tool, this will allow the unblurred original to show through the blur. 100% means you cannot see through the brush marks; 0% means you cannot see the brush marks.
-
4
Change the color by clicking the colored square in the toolbar and choosing a new color. Note that this does not affect the Impressionistic Brush tool.
-
5
Click and hold down your mouse button as you drag the brush across the painting. This will make the brushstrokes. To undo your last stroke at any point, hit CTRL+Z.
