Taking a picture of a newborn baby is a way of capturing a fleeting moment. Babies change in appearance each day. No matter how many photographs you take of your newborn baby, since she is always changing, there will always be new subject matter. Even so, you can create variety by being creative in how you take the pictures. It is not necessary to have a technical understanding of photography to take good pictures of a newborn. Put the baby on or in something. Newborns can fit into things even small children can't fit in to. Take advantage of this and photograph your child in a bowl or basket.

Deactivate your flash. The softer light of non-flash pictures can make your baby look more attractive. Look for the natural light in various rooms in your house and place the baby near or in it.
