Things You'll Need
- Matching or coordinating wide bias tape
- Scissors
- Small disc magnets, 3/4-inch diameter
- Sewing machine
- Straight pins
- Matching thread
Instructions
-
-
1
Cut a 1 1/2-inch piece of the bias tape.
-
2
Fold under the two raw edges of the tape 1/4 inch and stitch the folds using the sewing machine. This finishes the edges of the bias tape.
-
-
3
Position the disc magnet on the backside of the pot holder. If you wish to hang the pot holder from a corner, position the magnet about one inch below a corner. If you wish to hang the pot holder from a side edge, position the magnet about one inch below the side edge at the center point of the edge.
-
4
Pin the bias tape over the magnet so the bias tape completely covers the magnet. Center the magnet beneath the piece of bias tape.
-
5
Thread the sewing machine with thread that matches the colors of the pot holder.
-
6
Sew around the magnet through the bias tape to attach the magnet to the pot holder. Stitch about 1/8-inch inside the bias tape edge around all four edges of the tape. Remove the pins and clip the threads.
-
7
Place the pot holder wherever you want on your stove or refrigerator.
