How to Get Web Pages on My Kindle 2

The Kindle 2 is the second in Amazon.com's line of electronic readers, and went on sale starting in October, 2009. The Kindle 2 could hold more books than previous models -- up to 1,500 -- and offered some other new options such as Web browsing. Although the Kindle Web browsing experience is somewhat limited in terms of options, you can still navigate to and read most Internet Web pages.

Instructions

    • 1

Move the power switch on the bottom of the Kindle 2 reader to the right to turn the device on.

    • 2

Press "Menu," located on the right side of the Kindle 2.

    • 3

Click down on the five-way directional controller down until "Experimental" is underlined. Click the center of the directional controller to load a new screen.

    • 4

Check to be sure that the "Launch Browser" option is underlined (as the first option in the Experimental menu it is underlined by default). Click the center of the directional controller again to load the screen with Web page options.

    • 5

Click down on the directional controller to underline one of the Webpage options. These options include Yahoo!, Google, The New York Times, Wikipedia and Amazon.com.

    • 6

Click the center of the directional controller to select a Web page. The page will load automatically, but it make take a few moments to do so.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you want to visit a Web page that is not present on the list of Kindle preset bookmarks, choose one of the two Web browsers (Google or Yahoo!) and type the name of the Web page you wish to visit into the search field. Perform a search and click on the correct link to visit the Web page of your choice.
