Camtasia Studio is a software program developed by TechSmith, allowing users to make screencasts of the monitor display, assist in PowerPoint presentations and record and edit audio. When it comes to the screen recording aspect of Camtasia, it's sometimes necessary to pause the recording for making changes to the settings or to take a break from the current project. Camtasia Studio hotkeys make pausing and resuming a screen recording possible.
Open the Camtasia recording software by double-clicking the Desktop icon, or by clicking the Start button and typing "camtasia studio" in the "search programs and files" text box at the bottom of the window.
Click the "Record the screen" button under the menu bar. Click "Full screen" or type in the dimensions of the area you want to record in the "Dimensions" box under "Select area." Click the red "Rec" button when you are ready to begin recording.
Press the "F9" key on the keyboard to pause during the recording with Camtasia. If necessary, take note of the current time on the recording so you know where to start again.
Make any necessary adjustments to the settings and then press the "F9" key to resume recording.
