How to Fade Music With Power Director 8

Save

Simple adjustments to the fade-in and fade-out dynamics of audio tracks can be vital to both introducing your project and ending it. Synching your background audio's fade effects with the video tracks fade-in and fade-out, helps to marry the two tracks and provides your project with a polished feel. If you use CyberLink's PowerDirector 8 to construct your video projects, you can set your fade points visually instead of plugging track times into fade in and out fields.

  • Launch Power Director 8. Your last project will automatically load into the program. To load another project, select the "Open" option from the "File" menu. If you're starting a new project, drag and drop your background music into Power Director's music track. The music track is marked with a music note icon.

  • Click on the left edge of the horizontal line overlay that runs across your music track. The overlay represents the track's volume. A marker will appear on the selected point on the overlay. Drag the marker to the bottom of the music track.

  • Click on the point along the overlay where you'd like the fade in to climax. Drag the selected point upward. The first and second points should form an upward slope.

  • Click on the point in the track where you'd like the music to fade out. Drag the point level with your second point, so that the volume between the fade points is normal.

  • Click on the right side of the overlay. Drag the final point down to set your paint out points. The overlay should form a trapezoid.

  • Click on the "File" heading, and then select the "Save as" option to save your progress on your project.
