How to Import HTML to Outlook Email

Microsoft developed its Outlook program for sending and receiving email messages. Outlook supports HTML, which stands for "hypertext markup language." HTML provides a set of tags with which you can add formatting and graphics to a text file. After you save your edited text file as an HTML file, you can view it in a Web browser or insert it into an email message. The use of HTML messages allows you to display Web pages and graphics in your email messages, making it easy to send newsletters to friends and family or presentations to business clients.

Things You'll Need

  • Outlook 98 or later
  • Click the "Start" menu on your computer, and select "Programs" and then "Outlook."

  • Click "Tools," and select "Options."

  • Click "Mail Format." Select "HTML" from the drop-down menu in the message format box.

  • Click "New." Under the insert menu, click "File."

  • Find the HTML file using "Browse." Press the arrow next to the "Insert" button and select "Insert as Text."
