Systems Recovery for Dell Latitude D610

The Dell Latitude D610 laptop comes equipped with a recovery partition to assist you in performing system recovery tasks on your computer. Recovering the system is an effective troubleshooting method if your computer experiences a critical system error or is infected with malware. Use the recovery process only as a final option in the troubleshooting process, as it erases all the files and programs stored on your Latitude's hard drive.

  • Disconnect any keyboard, mouse, printer, MP3 player or smartphone plugged into the computer.

  • Restart the computer and press the "F8" key when the "Dell" logo reappears on the screen. The "Advanced Boot Options Menu" opens.

  • Use the arrow keys to highlight "Repair Your Computer" and press "Enter."

  • Click the "US English" option in the "Language Settings" menu and click "Next." Enter the administrator username and password in the window that appears, then click "Next."

  • Click the "Dell Factory Image Restore" icon and click "Next" in the window that opens. Click the check box for "Yes, reformat hard drive and restore system software to factory condition" and click "Next" to initiate the system recovery process.
