How to Enable HTML in vBulletin

One way to allow a vBulletin user to customize posts is to give him permission to use HTML code. With HTML capabilities, the user can embed pictures and website links in the forum. The downside of allowing HTML code is that your forum will need constant moderation. Otherwise, you risk the possibility of your forum being flooded with inappropriate images and links.

Instructions

    • 1

Log into the vBulletin "Control Panel" with an Administrator username and password.

    • 2

Click the "Usergroups" option. Select "Usergroup Manager."

    • 3

Locate the usergroup for which you would like to grant HTML permission. Click "Edit" next to the usergroup. This will launch the permission settings window.

    • 4

Locate the "Blog Entry" section of the permission settings window. Click the "Yes" radio button that is located next to "Allow HTML."

    • 5

Click "Save" to save your changes.
