How to Speed Up a Video With Pinnacle Studio 14

Like other video-editing programs, Pinnacle Studio 14 allows you to speed up or slow down a video by automatically removing or adding frames. When you speed a video up to a certain percentage of its original speed, frames are removed from throughout the video clip and dispersed so that the new speed appears smooth and continuous. The speed-changing feature is part of Studio's built-in HD RTFX plug-in pack.

  • Open the video in Studio, and double-click it in the Timeline to bring up a set of video tools.

  • Click the "Plugins" button at the bottom of the video toolbar. You'll see a list of installed plug-in packs, including the default one, "Studio HD RTFX." Click this, then select "Speed" in the "Effect" menu and click "OK."

  • Drag the "Speed" slider to the percentage of the original speed you want the new clip to be. The clip will expand as you drag the slider to the right.
