How to Find the Ignore List in Yahoo! Messenger

Yahoo! Messenger is an instant messaging software that allows you to communicate with other Yahoo! Messenger users via private messages. In addition to private messaging, Yahoo! Messenger allows you to share files, meet other users in chat rooms, play games and host a webcam. If you encounter an unpleasant individual in Yahoo! Chat or through Yahoo! Messenger, you can ignore the person. Ignoring an individual adds the person's Yahoo! ID to your ignore list and prevents all future contact. To view the names on your Yahoo! Messenger ignore list, you must view your preferences.

Instructions

1. Sign in to your Yahoo! Messenger account.

2. Click the "Messenger" button at the top of your Yahoo! Messenger.

3. Click "Preferences."

4. Click "Ignore List" and Yahoo! Messenger displays your ignore list.

5. Highlight a name and click "Remove" to remove a name from the list.

6. Click the "Add" button and type the Yahoo! ID of the person that you want to add to your ignore list.

7. Click "Apply" and click "OK" to close the "Preferences" dialog box.
