How to Frost Banana Bread

Yet, if you want to make it more like a dessert or dress it up for a special occasion, you can frost it. Options include drizzling a thinner frosting on top of the bread or spreading a thicker coat of frosting onto it. If you prefer a subtle taste, drizzle. If you enjoy the presence of thick frosting, slather it on. Does this Spark an idea?

Place the three ounces of softened cream cheese into a bowl. Whip the cream cheese with an electric mixer on medium speed. Use a plastic spatula to gather up any cream cheese that gets pushed onto the sides of the bowl. Scrape the cream cheese off of the spatula with a butter knife so it falls back into the bottom of the bowl.

Tips & Warnings
Sprinkle some chopped nuts onto the top of the frosting if you choose to spread it on the bread.
Stir in 1/2 tsp. of vanilla extract into the frosting after mixing for additional flavor.
Be careful when adding the additional powdered sugar to make a thicker frosting. Do it gradually so you can gauge the consistency. You may a bit more or less than one cup to make the consistency you desire.
