How to Clear a Yahoo Toolbar History in Internet Explorer 8

The Yahoo! Toolbar includes a search box that can be used for general Yahoo! searches as well as searches in specific categories, including shopping, images, videos and news. The search terms you enter in the toolbar's search box are automatically saved, which means that other people using your computer can view your search history. To preserve your privacy, you can clear the Yahoo! Toolbar's history and disable the feature for future browsing sessions.

Instructions

1. Click the settings icon that appears at the far-right end of the Yahoo! Toolbar. It is the last icon on the toolbar and resembles a gear.

2. Click "Toolbar Preferences." On the "Preferences" screen, click "Search."

3. Click the "Clear" link next to the "Search History" check box. To stop the toolbar from recording search history in the future, uncheck the "Search History" box.

4. Click "I'm Done" to save your changes and exit the "Preferences" menu.
