The Trade channel in "World of Warcraft" hosts discussions relating primarily to the buying and selling of items, but other conversations also find their way into the channel. Although players can use the auction house to purchase and sell items, the trade channel is an avenue for instant trade; there's no need to wait for auctions to finish. Joining the trade channel is as simple as typing a command in the chat box.
Open "World of Warcraft," enter your login information and click "Enter World" with the character of your choice.
Travel to a major city in Azeroth, the Outland or Northrend. You cannot join the Trade channel unless you enter a major city.
Bring up the chat box by pressing "Enter." Type "/join trade" without quotation marks. You will see "Join Channel [Trade]" appear in the chat box. A number will appear next to "Trade." Press "Enter" and type "/X" where X is the number that appears next to trade chat. The channel will automatically switch to "Trade."
