Making a coaxial cable requires removing a length of exterior sheathing and interior shielding from the cable to install an F-connector. To remove both types of shielding and expose the inner core wire of the cable generally requires multiple tools. A Datashark cable stripper has two stripping sections to remove both the exterior shielding and the inner core of the cable without the need for additional tools.
Step 1
Squeeze the handles of a Datashark cable stripper together to open the jaws of the tool.

Step 2
Set one end of a coaxial cable in the notch of the Datashark jaw closest to the pivot point of the jaw. Align the end of the cable with the edge of the tool furthest from the blade. Release the handles to close the tool.
Step 3
Spin the Datashark clockwise five to six times. Pull the tool toward the end of the cable to remove the outer sheathing. Pull the handles together to release the cable.
Step 4
Move the stripped section of cable to the hole closest to the end of the tool jaws. Align the end of the cable with the side of the jaw. Release the tool handles.
Step 5
Spin the tool five to six times. Pull the tool toward the end of the cable to remove the cable's inner sheathing.
Step 6
Repeat the procedure on the other side of the coax cable.
