Instructions

    • 1

Marinate the chicken before cooking. This will ensure that the chicken remains moist, even after freezing and thawing. Use a few different marinades to vary the style of chicken.

    • 2

Grill as you would normally. Remove from heat and allow to rest for five to 10 minutes.

    • 3

Cut the chicken breasts into pieces, depending on how you want to use them. The chicken must be cut into smaller pieces for quick thawing. Cut it into cubes for rice and pasta dishes, slice it to put on top of salads, or shred it with forks for burritos and soups.

    • 4

Place the chicken in separate, freezer-safe, zip-top bags. If you plan to store the chicken for longer than two months, add a few tablespoons of chicken broth to the bag to keep it moist. Remove as much air from the bag as possible before sealing.

    • 5

Label each bag with the current date, the marinade used, and the way you cut it. Lay the bags flat, stacked on top of each other, in the back of the freezer.

Tips & Warnings

  • Thaw the cooked chicken overnight in the refrigerator or submerged in a pot of cold water.
