How to Erase a Yahoo! Messenger Message
When you want to keep a Yahoo! Messenger message private, you might want to delete it from your computer. By default, Yahoo! Messenger keeps a copy of all your private messages in the Yahoo! Messenger Message Archive. Included in the archive is the history of all conversations, including the date and the name of the recipient. Although you can always delete the message manually, you can permanently prevent Yahoo! Messenger from retaining a copy of your messages by disabling the message archive in the program's preferences.
