How to Upload Your Own Avatar on PS3

Sony's PlayStation 3 system creates an account for each separate user. The user can specify a handle, or username, and an avatar. The PlayStation 3 comes with default user pictures, but they are limited to a few designs and video game characters. If you have a USB stick and access to a computer, you can easily upload your own picture to use as an account avatar.

Things You'll Need

  • USB stick
  • Insert the USB flash drive into a USB port on your computer.

  • Locate the picture you wish to use as an avatar.

  • Copy and paste the image to the USB memory drive.

  • Remove the USB memory drive and insert it into a USB port on your PlayStation 3.

  • Turn on the PlayStation 3.

  • Log in to your account and select "Account Management" and then "Edit Online Profile."

  • Scroll through the list of available avatars. Your new picture will be among the list of avatars.
