How to Have a Beautiful Baby Girl in "Sims 2"

You've finally found the love of your life in "The Sims 2," and after much discussion, are ready to have a baby. As in real life, babies in the game are a big responsibility. You need to have enough money to feed them, clothe them and provide educational toys. If you're certain the time is right to have a child, you're probably wondering what your baby-to-be will look like and whether it will be a boy or a girl. You cannot influence these factors directly, but must rely on chance to get the baby you want.

  • Create a Sim you think is attractive when you first create your character. Your baby will closely resemble her parents.

  • Marry an attractive Sim. Additionally, if your baby's personality is also important to you, check your partner's personality traits before you marry and mate with them. Select a mate with the best traits, like "Friendly" or "Heroic."

  • Direct your Sim to any bed. Once the Sim is in the bed, select your desired mate, and lead them to the bed as well. With both Sims in bed, click on the bed. Select "Try for baby." If you were successful, your female Sim quickly grows a large belly.

  • Save the game often. When your female Sim begins to go into labor, save immediately. The gender and appearance of the baby isn't determined until it is born. If you don't get the beautiful baby girl that you wanted, exit the game without saving, and try again.

Tips & Warnings

  • The female Sim remains pregnant for about 72 real-time minutes. Keep an eye on her so she doesn't go into labor when you aren't watching.
  • Take good care of your baby. If you neglect her, Social Services will take her away.
