In older versions of "MapleStory," the magnifying glass item allowed players to identify items in their inventory. However, a system update in June 2013 removed the magnifying glass from the game. The new method of identifying items uses a magnifying glass icon in the player's inventory screen.
When you pick up an item in "MapleStory," you may receive a message telling you that it has hidden potential. To appraise it, open your inventory. Click on the magnifying glass icon, which is third from the left at the bottom of the window. Next, click on the item.
Appraising items isn't free. The cost of the appraisal will be proportional to its level. However, if your Insight score is high enough, appraising may be free. Insight of 30 grants free appraisal for items under level 30, while characters with an Insight of 60 can appraise up to item level 70, and characters with 90 insight can appraise up to level 120.
Old Magnifying Glasses
If you bought a magnifying glass prior to the June 2013 change, it will still function as it previously did. You simply won't be able to buy any new ones.
