How to Make Your Own Adult Female Cheetah Costumes

The Cheetah is in the large cat family and was once found in most of Africa, India and the Middle-East, but is now only found in sub-Saharan Africa. There is much fascination surrounding this beautiful cat because it happens to be the fastest land animal. If you want to make an adult cheetah costume you are in luck, because you can probably make one with items you already own. Best of all, you don't need to be crafty to make a cheetah costume. All you need to know is how to cut and glue.

Things You'll Need

  • Old clothes
  • Scissors
  • Cardboard
  • Felt, black and yellow
  • Headband
  • Glue
  • Black tights
  • Old newspaper or fiberfill
  • Shoes
  • Fabric paint
  • Select clothes for your cheetah costume. You can choose a simple shirt and bottoms in a cheetah print, or you can make your own cheetah print. An adult cheetah costume can be sexy, if you wear form fitting clothing or a short skirt. It can be causal if you choose loose-fitting garments. If your clothing doesn't have cheetah spots, you can make your own spots. Get two shirts -- one yellow, one black or brown -- and two bottoms: one yellow and one black or brown. Cut holes in the yellow shirt and bottoms, so that when you put them over the top of your black clothes, it looks like cheetah spots.

  • Cut ears out of card board. Cut two identically sized ears out of yellow felt. Glue the felt pieces to the cardboard ears. Cut black spots out of the black felt and glue them to the ears, so they look like cheetah print. Glue the ears to the headband.

  • Cut off one leg from a pair of yellow tights to make your tail. Stuff the leg with old newspaper or fiber fill. Cut more black spots out of the felt and glue them on the tail. Fasten the leg with a safety pin and use the same safety pin to attach the tail to the back of your costume.

  • Decorate a pair of shoes. If you don't have yellow shoes, paint a pair of white canvas shoes yellow. Use black paint to apply the cheetah spots to your shoes.

  • Use Halloween make up to add a few spots and whiskers to your face. You can also paint the tip of your nose black.
