How to Delete Audiobooks on an iTouch

While it's possible to delete photos, videos and other data directly from the iPod Touch without the use of iTunes, to remove other content, you must connect the device to your PC. The iPod Touch requires you to sync the device to your computer to add or remove certain content and media like music, apps and audiobooks. The audiobooks you remove from the iPod Touch are still available in your iTunes library.

  • Connect the iPod Touch to your computer with the iPod USB dock cable. By default, iTunes launches and attempts to sync with the iPod Touch.

  • Activate the cancel sync prompt on the iPod Touch screen to cancel the automatic sync.

  • Click on your iPod's name under the iTunes "Devices" heading. The iPod Touch Summary page loads.

  • Click the "Books" tab at the top of the interface window. The Books pane loads to the screen.

  • Deselect the "Sync Audiobooks" check box to remove the check mark.

  • Click the "Sync" button at the bottom-right of the screen to remove the audiobooks from your iPod Touch.
