How to Sync to Env3

Save

Creating a connection between your LG enV3 mobile phone and your computer allows you to share information between the two and back up the phone's information through a USB cable. While Verizon Wireless provides some basic support for moving media files between the two devices, LG created a program specifically to sync contacts and calendars. Synchronize specific files by downloading driver software to your computer and setting up your LG enV3 for compatibility.

Things You'll Need

  • USB cable

Sync Content From Computer

  • Install the device driver for your LG enV3 on your computer. LG enV3 device drivers are available from LG's website. Restart the computer after the file is installed.

  • Slide open the enV3 and press "OK" to open the main menu.

  • Scroll to "Settings & Tools" and select "USB Mode." Press the "OK" button to change "USB Mode" to "Media Sync Mode."

  • Open the "Tools" menu in "Settings & Tools." Scroll to the bottom of the list, select "USB Mass Storage" and press "OK" to turn it on. USB Mass Storage mode is only an option if you are syncing information to and from a memory card.

  • Plug one end of the USB cable into the LG enV3, and the other into the computer's USB port.

  • Synchronize information between the LG enV3 and the computer. Your LG enV3 will be located as a removable drive in your "My Computer" menu. Copy the files you want to move to or from your LG enV3. Locate the proper location for the files to be saved and paste the files to complete the move. Picture files should be saved in the My Pix folder. Music should be saved in the My Music folder.

Sync With Outlook

  • Close Outlook on your computer.

  • Download and install LG Outlook Sync from LG's website. The application file is called "LG Outlook Sync.msi."

  • Plug your LG enV3 in to your computer via the USB cable and open LG Outlook Sync.

  • Open the "Tools" menu and select "Sync Option" to configure synchronization of Outlook contacts and calendar between your computer and your LG enV3.

Sync Music

  • Download and install "V Cast Media Manager" from Verizon Wireless. If necessary, install QuickTime 7 while installing V Cast Media Manager. Restart your computer after installing the software.

  • Turn on "USB Mass Storage" mode by opening the "Tools" menu in "Settings & Tools." Scroll to the bottom of the list, select "USB Mass Storage" and press "OK" to turn it on. Scroll to "Settings & Tools" and select "USB Mode." Press the "OK" button to change "USB Mode" to "Media Sync Mode."

  • Plug your LG enV3 in to your computer via USB cable.

  • Run "V Cast Media Manager." The program runs a startup wizard the first time it is opened. Select your preferences and allow V Cast Media Manager to search your computer for media files.

  • Drag and drop files to your LG enV3 in V Cast Media Manager. Imported files are saved to your phone's memory card by default.
