How to Go Through Sprout Tower

In "Pokemon HeartGold" and "Pokemon SoulSilver," your journey will lead you to Violet City. The city is home to Falkner, a Gym Leader who possesses Flying-type Pokemon. He also possesses the Zephyr Badge, which you'll need to obtain for your collection. You cannot battle Falkner until you take on the challenge of Sprout Tower. The three-story pagoda is home to sages who are eager to test your abilities in battle.

Tips & Warnings

  • Most of the sages use Bellsprout, a Poison and Grass-type Pokemon. If you chose Cyndaquil as your starter Pokemon, use Fire-type moves to counter Bellsprout. If you don't have Cyndaquil, a Flying-type Pokemon, such as Spearow, is a good substitute.

  • One of the sages in the third floor gauntlet will use Hoothoot, a Normal and Flying-type Pokemon. It is weak against Rock-type attacks.

  • Elder Li uses two Level 7 Bellsprout and a Hoothoot.

  • You will find two types of wild Pokemon in Sprout Tower. Rattata, a Normal-type Pokemon, infest the tower during the day. At night, Gastly, a Poison and Ghost-type Pokemon, wanders the floors. Ghost-type Pokemon are rare, but they can learn a wide variety of elemental attacks, so add a Gastly to your team.

  • Use TM70 Flash to illuminate dark caves.
