How to Turn off Geolocation in Firefox
Mozilla Firefox is a free Web browser available for Windows and Mac computers. The browser comes prepackaged with default settings enabled including a geo-location, commonly referred to as location-aware browsing. This feature automatically detects the user's location by using the IP address and wireless access points associated with the computer. This is beneficial in providing relevant results for location specific searches such as businesses and restaurants. Users may wish to disable this feature if the don't want to share their location with Firefox.

Launch Mozilla Firefox. Click "Start" from the lower-left of the screen. Click "All Programs" and then click "Mozilla Firefox."

Type "about:config" in the address bar located at the top of the browser.

Click the "I'll be careful, I promise!" button on the resulting page to launch the Firefox configuration page.

Enter "geo.enabled" in the "Filter" box at the top of the page and press "Enter."

Double-click "geo.enabled" under "Preference Name" to disable the feature. The value of the feature changes from "true" to "false."

Click the "X" at the top of the Firefox configuration page tab to save your changes and close out of the configuration settings.
