How to Garnish Fajitas
Fajitas, tasty Mexican fare made with tortillas, vegetables and meat, make a delicious meal. When you serve fajitas, spend a few extra minutes and create an attractive presentation. Taking the time to garnish a dish makes it more appetizing and inviting. Your guests will take one look and dig in. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- Cutting board
- Chef's knife
- 1 fresh avocado
- Picante sauce
- 1 fresh lime
- 2 to 3 stalks fresh cilantro
- Spatula

Roll the meat and other fajita ingredients inside the tortillas and place them onto a large platter. Line the rolled tortillas next to each other along the center of the platter.

Cut an avocado in half lengthwise and remove the seed. Use a large serving spoon to scoop out the flesh in one large piece and transfer the flesh to a cutting board. Slice the avocado halves lengthwise into quarters, but stop slicing about 1 inch from one end so the slices stay attached to each other, creating avocado fans. Set the avocado fans aside for a moment.

Fill each avocado shell with picante sauce and set them aside.

Cut a fresh lime in half width-wise. Cut each half in half again so you have quarters. Slice the lime quarters into 1/8-inch slices and set the lime slices aside momentarily.

Chop the fresh cilantro leaves and stems coarsely with the knife and set the chopped cilantro aside momentarily.

Transfer the avocado fans to opposite edges of the platter with a spatula. Spread the fans slightly to make them look attractive on the plate.

Place the filled avocado shells along the other two edges of the platter, positioning them opposite each other.

Arrange the lime slices along the edges of the platter, between the avocado shells and the avocado fans.

Sprinkle the chopped cilantro over the entire platter to add flavor and color.
