1
Bake a loaf of Christmas bread and remove it from the baking pan to cool on a rack. Make sure it is thoroughly cool before proceeding to the next step.
-
2
Tear off a piece of plastic wrap three times the width of the bread and place the bread in the center. Lift up the long sides of the wrap and bring them together at the top of the loaf.
-
-
3
Bring the edges of the wrap together and fold into a 1/2-inch strip that will run along the top of the loaf. Fold this sealed piece under the loaf. Fold the ends of the plastic wrap and tuck them under the ends of the loaf so it is airtight.
-
4
Smooth a tea towel on a clean work surface. Place the wrapped bread upside down on the towel. Place the bread in the center of the towel so the longer sides of the bread are parallel to the longer sides of the tea towel.
-
5
Fold the longer sides of the towel over the bread first. Fold the shorter ends of the towel by tucking them underneath the bread as you flip it over. The long seam of the towel will now be on the underside of the loaf.
-
6
Secure the tea towel gently with raffia. Tie the raffia into a bow on the top of the bread.
-
7
Inscribe a gift card and slip it, along with the recipe card, under the raffia.
-
8
Tuck a sprig of holly or mistletoe into the bow.
