How to Cut, Copy & Paste a Web Link

Cutting, copying and pasting are frequent actions used to handle text and content in documents, emails and on the Web. Windows contains several keyboard shortcut keys that allow users to quickly cut, copy and paste content. These shortcut keys come in handy when copying Web links that can often be long or contain may obscure characters. Cutting, copying and pasting Web links ensures the user doesn't mistype a URL.

Instructions

1. Select the web link. Click anywhere on the link. Press the "CTRL" and "A" keyboard keys simultaneously to select the entire web link.

2. Press the "CTRL" and "C" keyboard keys simultaneously to copy the link. This copies the link without removing the link address. Press the "CTRL" and "X" keyboard keys simultaneously to cut the web link. This copies the web link as well as removes the address from the document or address bar.

3. Click inside the location where you wish to copy the web link to. This may include a document, email or address bar. Press the "CTRL" and "V" keyboard keys simultaneously to paste the web link.
