Your set preferences and topics of interest aren't the only factors affecting which pages you see when using StumbleUpon. The service allows you to "Follow" individual users. Following another "Stumbler," as StumbleUpon users are called, adds the pages they like to your list of recommended pages -- making them much more likely to show up as you Stumble across the Internet. You can also choose to share items with people who follow you in return, sending them to recommended websites via messages in their StumbleUpon mailbox.
Log into your StumbleUpon account.
Find a Stumbler you'd like to follow. You can do so in two ways: either click the name of the Stumbler who recommended a Stumbled-to Web page when that person's name appears in the StumbleUpon Toolbar, or click the "Stumblers" tab on the StumbleUpon website -- stumbleupon.com/home -- to search for a Stumbler using several different search tools and criteria.
Click the green "Follow" button in the upper-right corner of the Stumbler' profile page. The button turns whitish-gray and informs you that you're now following the Stumbler.
Tips & Warnings
- StumbleUpon allows you to follow up to 500 fellow Stumblers.
- StumbleUpon rates how well your favorites compare to another member's favorites whenever you visit their profile. Look for the "How Similar Are You?" icon in the options on the right side of the profile screen. The higher the percentage, the closer your interests match.
