How to Cancel an eBay Dispute

At eBay, members have the option to open a dispute when they encounter transaction problems. Buyers can open a dispute if they did not receive an item they won or if they received an item not as described. Sellers on the other hand, can file disputes for non-paying buyers. eBay's Resolution Center provides an avenue for both buyers and sellers in resolving transaction issues and facilitates claims and actions on a member's account. Most disputes are resolved before the dispute process ends. Canceling an eBay dispute means that issues must be resolved first. When resolution has been reached, then you can follow a few steps to close the dispute.

  • Sign in to your eBay account.

  • Go to eBay's Resolution Center at

  • Find the dispute you wish to close in the list of open cases.

  • Select "Close case" from the "Take action" drop-down menu.
