How to Edit Old Tweets

Save

Twitter, the micro-blogging tool first started in 2006, now has users posting up to 110 million tweets per day, according to Forbes blogger Oliver Chiang. You may want to edit one of your own tweets at some point, but after a tweet has been sent you cannot change the content. However, you can download your old tweets and then edit their content in a few simple steps. This could be particularly useful if, for example, your company ran a successful campaign in the past that you want to re-launch, or if you feel that certain tweets need clarification or amendment to explain key points.

  • Visit www.Searchtastic.com.

  • Type in your Twitter handle next to "Twitter Login Name" and click "Search." This displays all your tweets one by one. You can search for specific keywords to limit the number of messages displayed by adding them to the "Search for All Words" box.

  • Click "Excel Export." On the next screen, enter the numbers displayed on the screen to prove that you are a person. Click "Export" to download your tweets to a file.

  • Open the downloaded Excel document to edit your old tweets.
