How to Check on a Payment Request From Texas Workforce


When you are getting unemployment insurance in Texas, you should know how to check on a payment request from the Unemployment Benefits Services of the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC). Per the TWC's regulation, it is the claimant's responsibility to keep up with the status of his claim and payment status.

  • Visit the Texas Workforce Commission homepage at Under "Featured Links," look for the "Unemployed Insurance (UI) Information" section. Click on the "Claim and Payment Status" link. On the "Unemployment Benefits Services" page, click on the "Claim and Payment Status" link. On the "Logon" page, click on the "Sign Up for User ID" link. Fill out all the information on the "Sign Up for User ID" page. When you are finished, it should take you back to the "Logon" page. Enter your User ID and password. Click Logon. On the "My Home" page, click on the "Claim and Payment Status" link. Scroll down to view the "Payment Summary."

  • Contact the Texas Workforce Commission's UI Tele-Center by phone. Their hours are Monday through Friday from 7a.m. to 5p.m. CST. The main toll-free number in Austin is 1-800-939-6631. The other numbers include Dallas local: 972-339-6200, El Paso local: 915-832-6400, Fort Worth local: 817-420-1600, Houston local: 281-983-1100, McAllen local: 956-984-4700 and San Antonio local: 210-258-6600.

  • Ask your financial institution for assistance if you are using direct deposit as your payment option. If you are using Chase TWC UI Visa Debit card, contact Chase bank.
