How to Uninstall Adobe Flash Player on a Mac

The Adobe Flash Player application allows your Web browser to view video files and banners that use the Flash video technology. Uninstall the Flash player if it is causing unwarranted errors on your Mac or if you are upgrading to a newer version of the application. The Mac OS X operating system does not require any uninstaller, making it a straightforward process to remove the programs installed to your operating system.

  • Click the "Finder" icon on the dock. Click "Applications."

  • Scroll to the "Adobe Flash Player" entry. Click the entry and drag it onto the "Trash" icon on the dock.

  • Click the "Finder" button on the menubar and click the "Empty Trash" entry to begin the uninstall process.

  • Restart your computer once the uninstall is complete to save the changes to your system and hard drive.
