How to Decorate Your Beach Porch

Decorating your beach porch or adorning a porch reminiscent of the beach requires using a tropical or nautical theme or a combination of both. A beach porch provides a relaxing retreat or an entertaining recreation area for family and friends. Incorporating seaside collectibles with tropical furniture sets the state for a beach porch. Decorate your porch with a beach theme so you may enjoy a tropical outdoor setting at your leisure.

Things You'll Need

• Wicker or bamboo furniture
• Blue or nautical cushions
• Beach towels
• Tropical plants and flowers
• Miniature outdoor lights
• Seashells
• Sand in ornamental glasses
• Artificial palm trees
• Neon lights with beach theme

Instructions

1. Set wicker or bamboo chairs and love seats around the perimeter of the porch or in small seating arrangements. Decorate the furniture with blue or nautical cushions. Place beach towels over the sides of chairs to add to the tropical theme.

2. Decorate the porch with tropical plants and flowers. Hang flower baskets filled with Boston ferns or colorful petunias. Scatter large pots with tropical palm plants around the porch.

3. Hang miniature lights around the porch. Choose from bare, white lights to lights enclosed in tiny Tiki huts to keep with the beach theme. Drape the lights up and down around the porch or in one area.

4. Adorn the porch with beach treasures such as seashells, ornamental glass filled with sand or small artificial palm trees trimmed with white lights.

5. Hang neon lights with a tropical theme such as a palm tree, anchor or cocktail glass with an umbrella.
