How to Find Cookies in Firefox

A Web cookie is a small text file that browsers use to store information about visits you make to websites. You may search for cookies manually in Firefox's privacy menu. This option presents a complete list of your cookies, but the dialog box that displays the list is small and somewhat difficult to manage. Another option is to install the "View Cookies" extension. Although this add-on does not display all of your cookies at once, it does show you cookies associated with your current Web page. Both options allow you to selectively delete cookies you do not want.

Firefox Privacy Menu

  • Open Firefox. Click on "Tools" and select "Options." Click on the "Privacy" tab.

  • Click the "remove individual cookies" link to bring up the Cookies dialog box.

  • Type a website name into the search box and press "Enter" to see cookies associated with it.

View Cookies Extension

  • Open Firefox. Click on "Tools" and select "Add-ons." Click the "Get Add-ons" button and type "View Cookies" into the search box.

  • Click the "Add to Firefox" button for the "View Cookies" add-on. Click the "Install" button on the extension, then restart Firefox to complete the installation.

  • Click on "Tools" again and select "Page Info." Click the "Cookies" tab to see all of the cookies associated with the current Web page you are viewing.
