How to Put a Search Bar in a New Tab for Firefox
Firefox provides a fully customizable search bar that lets you choose between search engines and specific websites. However, the fact that the option to open search results in a new tab does not come as a default with the browser can get quite frustrating. Luckily, Firefox is known for having thousands of available add-ons, which you can use to make Firefox open a new tab when you search from the built-in search bar.

Tips & Warnings
If your add-on doesn't have a "configure" or "settings" link next to it, check your search preferences to see if it created its own options tab.
