How to Deposit Checks in a Bank of America ATM Machine

Use an ATM to do more than just withdraw funds.

Bank of America offers customers a number of financial resources, including business banking, credit cards, loans and personal banking services. Included in your banking services are many features, such as an account debit card, access to ATMs worldwide and the ability to deposit checks through ATMs. Bank of America uses a digital imaging system that takes photos of your checks as they are deposited and prints them on your receipt for you.

Instructions

1. Endorse the back of the check you are depositing, and write "For Deposit Only" underneath your signature. No deposit slip is required with Bank of America's deposit imaging system.

2. Go to a Bank of America ATM. Put your debit card into the ATM, and enter your PIN. Read the options on the screen, and select "Deposits." Key in the amount of the check. When instructed, slide your check into the ATM deposit location; no envelope is necessary with Bank of America's digital imaging system.

3. Finish your ATM banking needs; withdraw cash if needed, and select "Finished" on the ATM screen to complete your transaction. Take your receipt from the machine. Your receipt will show a photo of the check you deposited. As long as your funds are deposited 8 p.m., the funds will be available the same day.
