Bahamian Diet

Arts entertainer, social activist and nutritionist Dick Gregory created the Bahamian Diet in 1987 to promote and encourage a natural and raw food diet, vegetarianism and the health benefits of juicing. The Slim-Safe Bahamian Diet is a powdered, meal replacement drink that can aid in weight loss.

Diet Plan

The Bahamian Diet is a meal replacement product with ingredients that aid in weight loss, but cannot induce weight loss on its own. In order for the diet to be effective, users should eat at least three balanced meals per day, focusing on low carbohydrates and starches and replacing high-calorie foods with fresh fruits, porous vegetables and all-natural juices and water.

According to “The Juice on Dick Gregory,” the Bahamian diet “flushes out all the poisons you've ever had in your belly. For the next 30 days, I want you to eat no bread, cereal, rice, pasta, milk, yogurt, cheese, meat, poultry, fish, beans, eggs, legumes, fats, oils, or sweets.” Eat fruits and vegetables raw, without steaming. When possible, juice fruits and vegetables to receive the highest level of nutrition.

To achieve the maximum amount of weight loss, take three servings every day for at least six to 10 weeks. The Bahamian Diet will provide all the daily required vitamins and minerals needed for health. Start the Bahamian Diet by mixing one level scoop, about 22.4 grams, in 8 ounces of unsweetened fruit juice. The formula mixes instantly with juice. It is recommended to not use milk, since it contains a higher concentration of calories.

Fitness

Gregory emphasizes the importance of exercising for fitness and optimal health. The Bahamian Diet encourages fitness activity four to five times a week at 30- to 45-minute intervals. Commit to cardiovascular exercises and light strength training to build strong bones and lean muscle mass.
