Way to Display Kids' Medals
If your child wins medals at school or at local sporting events, you can display them to show how proud you are of their accomplishments. Unless they are displayed, medals may get lost or damaged over time, especially if they are left loose in your child's room. Instead, mount the medals in a shadow box and show them off in a professional manner.
Things You'll Need
- Shadow box
- Measuring tape
- Black foam board
- Utility knife
- Metal ruler
- Safety pins
Instructions
-
-
1
Measure the height and length of your shadow box.
-
2
Cut a piece of black foam board that fits snugly inside the frame of a shadow box. A utility knife allows you to make clean straight lines on foam board.
-
-
3
Plan where the medals are going to hang. Most medals look good with at least an inch of ribbon showing above them.
-
4
Make slits in the foam board that are wide enough to fit the ribbons of the medals using the utility knife.
-
5
Feed the ribbons through the slits, pulling them until the medal is hanging against the foam board with an inch of ribbon showing above. If necessary, push the ribbon through using a thin metal ruler.
-
6
Roll up the loose ribbons in the back and secure them with a safety pin.
-
7
Place the foam board with the ribbons attached into the shadowbox.
-
8
Close the shadowbox.
