Instructions

    • 1

Draw a horizontal straight line on the lower part of the page. The line represents the floor of the bar. Sketch a box-shaped object (or "cuboid") above the floor line to represent a bar counter on the left or right side of the page. Draw two perpendicular lines to represent a chair beside the bar counter.

    • 2

Sketch the torso of the man on the chair as a rectangle and slant it towards the bar counter top. Add another two smaller rectangles on top of the torso for the man's shoulders and neck. (See reference 1, paragraph 1)

    • 3

Create his hips by drawing a square on the chair seat. Then draw the right and left thighs by sketching two longer rectangles that extend diagonally from the hips to the bar counter wall. Extend two shorter rectangles from the bottom of the thigh sections to represent the lower legs.

    • 4

Sketch straight lines from the shoulders, making them as long as the torso's height. Draw circles at the end of the lines to represent the elbow joint. Create the lower arms by drawing lines from the circles with the left arm inclined towards the head and the right arm on the counter.

    • 5

Encircle each end of the line to show the wrist joint and then draw the palm of the man's hand. Draw a cylinder in the middle of the left circle to represent his cocktail.

    • 6

Draw an oval shape for the head and have it slant towards the counter. Divide the face into quadrants to guide you on where to place the eyes, mouth, nose and ears. (See reference 2, steps 1, 2 and 3)

    • 7

Create a sweater and pants by sketching lines around the outline of the torso and legs, respectively. Draw short, curved lines at the elbow and knees. (See reference 2, step 3 and 4)

    • 8

Refine the outline of the man's figure with a darker pencil, following the shapes as guidelines. Erase the light pencil markings.

    • 9

Draw cylinders in different sizes on the bar counter to show more cocktails littering the bar counter. (See reference 3)
