How to Get a Trapinch in "SoulSilver"

A Trapinch is a rare, Ground-type Pokémon found in the Safari Zone in "Pokémon SoulSilver." It is one of only a few unevolved types of Pokémon able to learn the moves Hyper Beam and Giga Impact. When it reaches levels 35 and 45, it evolves into a Vibrava and a Flygon, respectively -- both of which are Dragon and Ground-type Pokémon.

Instructions

1. Go to Glitter Lighthouse and heal Amphy, the sick Ampharos, with the Secret Potion to gain access to the Johto Safari Zone. If you don't already have it, you can obtain the Secret Potion from Cianwood City.

2. Take either Route 47 or Route 48 to get to the Safari Zone.

3. Once in the Safari Zone, walk around in the tall grass until you encounter a wild Trapinch. This may take some time, as it is a rare Pokémon.

4. Battle the Trapinch; when it is at low health, use a Poké Ball to capture it. You may have to use multiple Poké Balls to catch the Trapinch.

Tips & Warnings

• Your chances of catching a Trapinch will be higher if you use a Safari Ball, which you can purchase when you enter the Safari Zone.

• Your chances will also be higher if you put the Pokémon to sleep or paralyze it.
