How to Remove Completed Torrents on uTorrent

uTorrent, also known as µTorrent, is an application which allows you to download files using BitTorrent, a file-sharing transfer protocol. You download files by first obtaining a small torrent file which gives uTorrent a list of sources for the main file to be downloaded. Once uTorrent completes the download of the main file, you can instruct it to either remove the torrent from the queue or remove and delete the torrent file altogether. You can perform either of those tasks in just a few steps.

Instructions

  1. Removing Completed Torrents From the Queue

    • 1

Launch uTorrent using the application's shortcut in your Windows Start Menu or on your desktop.

    • 2

Look in the list of active torrents for any files marked "Seeding" in the "Status" column. The list of active torrents is in the top half of the main screen. "Seeding" indicates that uTorrent has finished downloading that torrent.

    • 3

Right-click on the completed torrent you wish to remove from the queue and select "Remove."
