Instructions

    • 1

Place the coffeemaker on a flat, stable surface. Plug the power cord into an electrical outlet. Make sure the On/Off switch is in the "Off" position.

    • 2

Fill the glass carafe with cold filtered or bottled water. Grasp the tab on the reservoir cover and lift, allowing the lid to swing up. Pour the cold water into the water tank. Use the water level indicator on the side of the coffeemaker to measure the desired amount cups.

    • 3

Insert a Gevalia number four cone filter into the filter basket. Fold the seamed edges of the filter around the basket to form a seal. Firmly push the filter basket into the filter basket holder until it locks into place.

    • 4

Place the lid on the carafe, making sure the lid opening is aligned with the pouring spout on the carafe. Place the carafe in the coffeemaker. Position the carafe so that it is properly seated in the coffeemaker.

    • 5

Measure the desired amount of Gevalia ground coffee using the provided scoop. Use the same water ratio as with other ground coffees. For a stronger, full-bodied coffee measure one level scoop of coffee per six fluid ounces of water, or 10 level scoops for a full pot.

    • 6

Close the reservoir lid and press down so that it is securely closed.

    • 7

Press the "On" button. The red LED "On" light will light up, indicating the start of the brewing cycle. Allow the coffee to set for a few minutes once the brewing process is complete. This allows the rest of the hot liquid to drip through the coffee and into the pot.

    • 8

Turn the coffeemaker "Off" when the carafe is empty or you are finished with the coffee. Unplug the machine and allow it to completely cool down before cleaning. Carefully open the reservoir cover, grab the tabs on the side of the filter basket and carefully lift the basket straight up from the basket holder.

    • 9

Discard the coffee grounds. Wash the filter basket, carafe and carafe lid in warm soapy water. You can also place these pieces on the top rack of your dishwasher. Use a damp washcloth and wipe down the coffeemaker and warm plate.

Tips & Warnings

  • Do not use abrasive cleaners.

  • Do not open the reservoir cover while in operation.

  • Check the glass carafe regularly for cracks or damage.
