Instructions for Changing the Battery in a Palm Vx
The Palm Vx is a handheld personal digital assistant with a 4.7-by-3.2-inch LCD screen. The Vx contains a reusable, rechargeable battery. If the battery wears out or no longer holds a charge, a new battery can be installed in its place. Changing the battery in the Palm Vx involves opening the PDA to access the internal components of the device.

1
Turn the Palm Vx off. Set the device on a flat wood surface face down.

3
Insert the tip of the flat blade screwdriver into the seam on the side of the case. Pry the two sides of the case apart. Set the back shell aside.

4
Turn the unit over so the front is facing up. Lift the front case shell off and set aside.

5
Unplug the battery connector from its socket. Lift the battery out of the unit.
-
6
Plug the new battery connector into the battery socket. Position the new battery into the battery compartment.
-
7
Position the pieces of the Palm Vx case back together. Place a small clamp on each side to hold the pieces tightly together.
-
8
Position the unit face down on the wood surface. Turn the hair dryer on. Heat the edges of the case in the same manner as before for 30 to 60 seconds. Leave the clamps on the unit for at least 30 minutes so the glue can harden.
