How to Make Distressed Cards
Making cards for birthdays, anniversaries or holidays can be fun and often less expensive than buying them. However, if you are looking for a way to add a bit more style to your cards, consider distressing the paper. The effect is simple to achieve and is not just for more advanced crafters. 2
Unfold the paper so that is is flat. Not too much or you will lose the effect.
-
-
3
Open your ink pad and rub it across the paper the entire paper once or twice.
-
4
Fill the spray bottle with water.
-
5
Spritz the paper with the water. Pick up the piece of paper and tilt it back and forth to get the ink to run.
-
6
Allow the paper to dry, then trim it down to the size you need.
Dry Method
-
7
Place a piece of scrap paper on your work surface.
-
8
Hold the paper firmly with one hand. Then, run your edging tool along one side using your free hand. This will help you figure out how much pressure to use with the tool to get the desired look. The edging tool can be purchased at most craft and scrapbook supply stores.

Grab a piece of card paper when you are ready and place it on your work surface.
