  • 1 cup shortening
  • 3 tbsp. water
  • 8 cups powdered sugar
  • Corn syrup

      Put marshmallows and water in the glass bowl. Melt together on the stove or in the microwave. Check every 30 seconds and stir until completely melted. Next, add 6 cups of powdered sugar. Use shortening to constantly grease your work surface and utensils. Pour the marshmallow mix over your surface and start kneading, slowly adding the remaining sugar. If the mix tears or sticks to your hands, add 1 tsp. water and continue kneading. Coat the fondant with a generous layer of shortening and cover tightly in plastic wrap. Let sit overnight.

      Decorate the cookies. When ready, lay out the fondant and roll it 1/8 inch thick. Use cookie cutters to give the fondant different shapes.
