How to Backup Apps for Your BlackBerry on a Mac
In the age of smartphones, people store a great deal of data in a very small device. If that device is lost or stolen, remembering all of your contacts and other information stored on the phone can be a major headache. That's why it is a good idea to back up your data and store the backup file in a safe place. If you have a BlackBerry, you can back up your applications and other data using the BlackBerry Desktop Manager software packaged with your smartphone.

Install BlackBerry Desktop Manager on your computer. The software is available in versions for PCs and Macs.

Connect your BlackBerry smartphone to your computer using the USB cable included with the phone. Blackberry Desktop Manager should open automatically.

Click "Back Up" from the menu options at the top right of the Blackberry Desktop Manager window.

Click "Selected Data" from the options displayed in the window that opens. Choose the applications you want to back up from the list. Click "Back Up" when you are finished making selections and the backup will begin. It may take several minutes to back up your data.
