How Can I Download Internet Explorer 8 Again?

You can reinstall Internet Explorer 8 from scratch.

Internet Explorer is a Web browser for the Microsoft Windows operating systems. It is the browser of choice for tens of millions of users world-wide. Internet Explorer 8 may become inoperative as a result of some other misbehaving program, misconfiguration or data corruption. You can reinstall Internet Explorer 8 on your Windows computer, to go back to a clean and working instance of the browser.

Instructions

1. Export your browser bookmarks if your current Internet Explorer allows it, as they could be at risk during the reinstallation of Internet Explorer. Click "Favorites," then "Import and export," then "Export to a file," then "Next." Select "Favorites," click "Next," select where to back up the bookmarks, click "Next," then "Export," then "Finish."

2. Download the appropriate installation file for Internet Explorer, by navigating to the "Internet Explorer 8" (Microsoft.com/windows/internet-explorer/?ocid=ie8_s_ad7fa1d4-a75b-4df7-ad63-f581977282a8) with any working Web browser on the computer. Click on the version you want to download. Click "Save." Wait for the download to finish.

3. Reinstall Internet Explorer 8 by double-clicking on the downloaded file. Follow the prompts. The wizard will install a fresh version of Internet Explorer 8 on your hard disk.

• If your computer has no working web browser, insert the Windows installation CD or DVD into the optical drive. Click "Start," then type "run" into the search box, then press "Enter." Click on "Run," then type "cmd" and press "Enter." Click on the newly opened Command box, then type

• Press "Enter." Windows will begin installing the version of Internet Explorer originally distributed with the operating system. If that version is older than the current release of Internet Explorer 8, use the older version to download the current one as explained.
