Research professional body piercing shops in your local area. Often piercers work out of tattoo parlors. Call the shop to ask if they provide surface piercings and schedule an appointment.

Meet your piercer. They will explain the procedure, assess your skin and ask you to sign a waiver stating you are aware of the risks of piercing the area. Ask any questions you have about the piercing.

Listen to your piercer for instructions when they are ready to begin the procedure. The piercer will shave any hair from and sanitize the skin on your wrist. They may ask you to take a deep breath or look away from your wrist as they insert the needle into your skin.

Take care of your surface piercing according to the aftercare instructions provided by your piercer. Gently clean your wrist with antiseptic soap and keep the area bandaged to prevent irritation until the skin around your piercing heals.
