How to Open StuffIt Expander on a Mac
StuffIt Expander is a free application from Smith Micro Software. Use it to open compressed files on your Mac, such as files ending in "ZIP," "SIT" and "SITX." People often compress large files, such as documents or spreadsheets so they will take up less room when they back them up. Compressing a file also lets you transfer it faster, such as when you email it to someone. You can easily open StuffIt Expander on your Mac, using three methods.

Click the "Applications" folder icon in the Dock on your Mac, and then click "StuffIt," and then click "StuffIt Expander" to launch the application.

Double-click the icon of the "StuffIt Expander" alias on the Mac's desktop to launch StuffIt Expander.
